Barbie is a famous American Icon for tween girls (ages 9-12). Barbie influences people to have the perfect body; legs, waist, bust size. Plastic sugery plays a big role in helping female obtain these measurements. What do you think Barbie is teaching young girls today about their body image. Do you thing Barbie is getting too sexy? Researchers today say if Barbie was a real person she would stand 5-foot-6, weigh 110 pounds and have a 39-inch bust line, an 18-inch waist, and 33-inch hips. She would be an unhealthy size. Is Barbie the reason girls become anorexic in the first place?
